Insight Cuba Rolls Out Undiscovered Cuba Tour

Eager globetrotters can look forward to earning bragging rights this season by visiting areas of Cuba that have yet to be explored by most Americans in this formerly forbidden country. First on the ground with legal trips since August 2011, Insight Cuba, the leading provider of U.S. authorized people-to-people travel to Cuba, has launched an 11-night "Undiscovered Cuba" tour that spans the island from one end to the other. The exclusive program, which will provide participants an authentic view of the country's people, landscapes and culture, visits destinations not reached by most other U.S. tour operators. Bookings are now open for 10 departures through 2013, starting with a New Year's departure on December 31, 2012 with free air to Havana.

Undiscovered Cuba is a match made for travelers with a real zest for exploration and a desire to leave no stone unturned.  Kicking off in Havana, travelers will have ample opportunities to not just marvel at the capital city's magnificent architecture but also enjoy immersive experience with its residents. Next the tour heads east to Cuba's most central region, stopping in Santa Clara, home to the Che Memorial, then Camaguey, a town known for its maze-like streets. Midway into the program, guests will journey through stunning landscapes and quaint villages before arriving in Cuba's second largest city and Afro-Cuban capital, Santiago de Cuba. After enjoying the city's lively beats and pulsing rhythms, the small group will travel to Baracoa, the oldest city in Cuba and a tranquil seaside town favored by many Cubans.

"We're particularly excited to announce the 'Undiscovered Cuba' program not only because it offers unique access to Cuba's people and places the average visitor rarely sees, but also because a trip of this duration is one of the first in the marketplace," said Tom Popper, president of Insight Cuba. "We've found that once Americans get a taste for Cuba, they want to see more. This people-to-people program was developed for those who wish to experience the country from top to bottom. We think it's going to be an instant classic for us."

Insight Cuba handpicks exclusive experiences and keeps its groups to 24 people maximum. Prices for the 12-day "Undiscovered Cuba" tour are from $4,195 per person double occupancy and $4,595 per person single occupancy, and include: first-class accommodations, Cuban guide, Insight Cuba tour leader, all meals, U.S. Treasury Department licenses and letter of authorization, all entrance fees to scheduled activities and events, all in-country ground transportation and transfers, travel health insurance, emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellation (up to $1,000), an Insight Cuba guidebook, and a 24-hour emergency service hotline.  For a limited time, the December 31 departure features free air from Miami to Havana, for savings of $585
